Tuesday the 31st

Well, attempt 2 not so successful. Jahno asked for Korean Style Pork tonight. So I looked at the ingredients and the prep and cook time. 10 mins prep and 20 mins cook so I expected it to take about an hour. I minced the garlic and the jalapeno and was reading ahead only to find out that the pork needed to marinate for 2 to 24 hours. So I finished getting all the marinate together and added the pork and figured I would let it marinate for about an hour and then grill it. I know it wouldn't have as much flavor but what could I do. I knew dinner would be late but we could have a little snack until then. Jahno got home and I told him. He was starving and said why don't we just marinate it over night and we can go grab something. I was a little disappointed but it will marinate for the 24 hours and full of flavor, So pork for tomorrow.

I went to the doctor today for the genetic testing which is an ultrasound and blood work. The ultrasound Lady was training another lady who is going to start working at the Pearland office. So I got more time. This baby is...a little stubborn. :-) It was upside down which makes it really hard to get the measurements they needed, it then flipped around but was looking at us so again they couldn't get the measurements, it kept waving and kicking its feet. They started calling the baby Micheal Phelps. Finally they got the measurements they were looking for. She also was measuring the length of the baby and got the right size and due date estimate but then it was getting farther along, once she was up to a week later she stopped measuring because we knew I couldn't be that far. Then I went to get my blood drawn and the lady was on her phone again, she had me what 10 mins last time. After about 5 mins she drew my blood. I have good veins but for some reason she went for my smallest vein, it hurt so bad and I bruised almost instantly. I have my regular appointment on April 23 and then we go for the "Big" ultrasound on May 11th. Here are some of the pictures.

The baby looking right at us and has its arms tucked in.

Waving at us.

And it was doing a summersault and legs were stretched out.

Monday Dinner Attempt

Tonight I decided to cook Thai Shrimp and noodles for dinner tonight. The cookbook said 10 mins Prep time and 20 mins cook time. It took me well over an hours and I was getting frusterated. The 10 mins prep doesn't include shredding the carrots or mincing the garlic or cooking the shrimp. Oh and it is a good thing I know how to cook shrimp because they didn't tell you how to cook them. And I couldn't find either of my peelers so I had to shred the carrots with a regular knife. Now I know what a convenience charge is for and almost think sometime it might be worth it. Very tricky and sneaky and not cool. So I finally got everything together and had a little more time before Jahno got home so I decided to make a Carrot Cake. Jahno got home and while the cake was cooking we had dinner. I have never had Thai food so didn't really know what to expect. Well, I hated it! I left some shrimp out of the dish so I ate those but Jahno said it was great, he loved the carrots and snow peas which he usually didn't. Maddie even ate some of it. Jahno is taking it for lunch tomorrow. So Day one of real cooking took longer than expected but was a big success!!! I am going to go ice the cake and we will have dessert for the rest of the week. I will keep you posted on the first week of real cooking!

Here are the left overs...it looks pretty!

This Weekend

Saturday afternoon I got out a cookbook and made a menu for this week. Well, Jahno and I called out page numbers and we each had one veto and that is how the menu came about. Finally after Jahno dilly dallied we left to go to HEB. We always go to Walmart but no matter how much we get we always spend the same amount which is a lot and since I needed fresh meat and spices I figured HEB would be worth a try. Sure enough, we got everything on the list which was a basket full of food and spent just over what we would at Walmart...oh and we got 3 pounds of shrimp with that. I am definitely sold on HEB.

Sunday we got up and I made cinnamon rolls which were yummy and only the out edge we dark brown! I might actually be figuring out my dumb gas oven. We got ready and Madeleine was finally about to wear the dress that Meme made her for Christmas. It is still long and she tripped on it several times but it is cute and fits well everywhere else. Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy.

March 26th

I had a head ache for over a week and it turned into a migraine on Sunday. Tuesday I woke up from a nap and my vision was blurry so I finally called the doctor. Dr. Klein was in surgery and they don't kept pain killers in the office so they told me to either go to the ER or urgent care and not to wait so long to call them next time. So we went to urgent care because it cost the same as a doctor's visit where the ER is 50 times more. They gave me a shot of phenegan and a prescription for Tylenol 3. Several hours later I started having muscle spasms which lasted until after 3 AM. Jahno ended up going and sleeping on the couch. I finally fell asleep and Madeleine woke up. I got up to get her and ran into Jahno at the stair. he went and got her and I went back to bed. It was still early, I think so I figured he would just come get me when he needed to go to work. At 11:30 he came and got me up and I came down to a clean living room and kitchen...aawwww! So I got sick, I guess from moving and then ate some breakfast, Maddie at some lunch and Jahno got ready for work. After he left I went to bed again for a nap. Jada came over to help and then we went out for Jahno's late Birthday Dinner.

Madeleine is into shoes...especially ours. She will put them on and walk around the room. Well she found my High Heals...it was really cute.

We went to the OB today. Everything looks good, and the Baby was moving. I go back next week for labs and genetic testing.

Monday

This morning Madeleine and I had Breakfast and then we were playing. Well, Maddie kept saying outside, outside so we went outside. I pulled Madeleine's car out and then sat done since I still have a head ache. I notice there are a lot of papers on the drive way so I got a bag and went to pick them up. When I got to the very end of the drive I noticed 4 strollers down the street. I considered going inside because I basically just put clothes on this morning and pulled my hair back, I was looking rough. But Madeleine was having fun so I thought well they will just walk by and we'll say Hi and it will be over. As they are getting closer I notice one of the Strollers is Grant and Aimee. So between the panic attack and embarrassment Aimee came up and talked for a second and then they were off on their walk. When I told Jahno he said it sounded like Westside Story. Anyways.

I decided to wash my car since it really needed it and there was no chance Maddie was going inside. Before I washed my car I needed to make room in the garage since it looked like it was going to rain. As I did that Madeleine pulled out every ball out of the garage and old toys. I finished my car, got it in the garage, attempted to get Maddie's toys inside and then get Maddie inside. We got inside, had lunch and took a nap. Here are some pictures of our outside time.

Madeleine in her car before the embarrassment.

Madeleine with all the Balls.

We were playing football.

Madeleine was putting everything in her car.

Monday Morning

I got a migraine last night so I did not get too much sleep. Yesterday I had to wake Madeleine up at 8:15am and she still was not having it. She fussed at me, rolled over and went back to sleep. I pulled her out of bed and got her ready for church screaming and kicking. Since I did not sleep last night I was hoping she would sleep a late again this morning...no luck. She was up around 7:10 and crying, I went in there and her arm was tangled in her shirt. I don't know if she was taking her shirt off or on but either way her arm was all twisted up. I got her untangled and sat down to rock her for a second to calm her down. She saw her bedtime book and reached for it. I put her down and she was flipping through it and all of a sudden grabbed my hand. I was thinking she was ready to go down stairs, nope, She pulled me out of the chair so she could get in. Then she asked for her book and started reading it.

Yesterday we were going to get dinner and Madeleine got ready by getting a hat and the keys and was knocking on the door. She is a mess.

Weekend Fun

On Friday Jahno got free movie tickets to Studio Movie Grill, it is the only HD movie place and it just opened. We went to see Race To Witch Mountain. I thought it was really good and there were parts of the movie that felt 3D. The $10 Hamburgers weren't the best but I guess I kinda had high expectations for $10. Since we had to go to the late show Maddie stayed at Grand Dad and Kimmie's. Saturday morning Jahno washed and waxed his truck and I cleaned out the office which is going to become the guest room and the guest room is going to be the new baby's room. Now I have to get the desk out of there and move the futon out and then we are going to move the guest bed in there and the Baby's room begins. After I finished cleaning I went out and talked to Jahno while he finished. Since I had to unbutton my fattest fat jeans at the movies on Friday I decided to break down and get out the maternity clothes. We went and got Maddie stopped by Jada's and then came home. Once we put Maddie to bed I cleaned out my closet of non-pregnant clothes and hung up all the pregnant clothes. I go to the doctor this Thursday so we will keep everyone posted.

Just some stuff

Well, yesterday I wasn't feeling too well. I had a head ache and was nauseous all day. Last night before bed Jahno and I were taking clothes downstairs to the laundry room, I had gone up and down stairs 3 times and the last time my face started tingling and I was really dizzy. Jahno told me to lay down and he started rubbing my head and then my belly. After a couple of minutes of rubbing my belly he said, "Wow, you really are starting to look pregnant." Is that a nice way of saying I am fat? ;-)

Today I put Madeleine in a onesie dress today. On the way to the store she started saying Belly Button. I told her I was sorry but she had a onsie on and we couldn't take it off. All the way through Wal-mart she kept saying Belly Button. I felt really bad, I didn't think it would be that big of a deal but she apparently is "needing" her belly button more. We also went out side and used Side walk chalk for the first time and she would write a line and then walk a couple of steps and write another line. It was so cute!

Rodeo

We went to the rodeo on Saturday afternoon....it was, well...the worst rodeo I have ever been to! All of the contestants did horrible, most got penalties or disqualified and the ones that did qualify were pathetic times and scores. Then one of the helpers was hearding a horse and his horse fell over. The guy got up and pet his horse and walked him out, I was so upset because the horse seemed stunned and I was just hoping the horse wasn't hurt. Well, then shortly after that a bucking horse came out fell and broke is leg. Oh yes, the leg was dangling and they had already said how the horse was really old so you know they are just going to put it down. I was almost in tears and having to cover my eyes because the leg was so bad. It was really depressing. Then I thought they were going to skip the calf scramble which is my favorite part, but they didn't. They did it in less than half of the arena so it was very quick and not very exciting, so it was a pretty disappointing. They did have this new event called Mutton Busting...I think. Well, these little kids 4-6 ride sheep. It was so cute!!! They had the bull fighters down there which just added to the cuteness. The first few kids fell pretty fast but when they fell off they would get up and throw there hands in the air. The older kids came up and they were able to hold on longer, in fact one of them held on almost the whole time. Then here comes one kid, held on while the sheep was jumping and then rode on the side before falling, the kid got up, and threw HER hands up. Yep, Her,it was a girl!!! I was super excited and decided Maddie needed to do that. She is a little tank and very strong willed and would e perfect. Now if she will stay tough! Josh Turner was the concert and it was really good! He is so hot and his voice doesn't seem to match him but who cares! So rodeo was awful, Maddie is going to ride a sheep one day and the Concert was great!

One Night of Queen and the Museum

Saturday morning we went to the Children's Museum with our friends Aimee, Gary and Grant and Beau, Erica and Elijah. The kids seemed to really enjoy and so did the adults. I was feeling pretty claustrophobic so I didn't get too many pictures but here are some of them.

Madeleine loves chairs...especially when they are her size. Oh and she loves books so this little room was perfect for her.

Another chair and this time she was building with blocks.

Gary did a puppet show for Madeleine and Grant. The kids weren't too sure about the puppets.

The kids really seemed to enjoy the ball pit. Grant was very content just holding all the balls. Madeleine wanted to throw them and Elijah was jumping into the pit.

Madeleine loved the water part.

We also had a nice little picnic in the courtyard and then our family had to leave. We took Madeleine to Grandma Kimmie's house and we went home to change. Jahno had to stop by a guys house to get some work done and then we were on our way to the House of Blues. I told him I needed a little snack because I was starving. We planned on going to Katz after the show but I knew I couldn't last that long. Every fast food place downtown was closed so after we walked tons of blocks we went back to the House of Blues Restruant. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was great. It was very cheesey and hit the spot. Then we headed to the 3rd floor for the shoe. We saw a lot of interesting people going in and we thought it was very humorous that they patted Jahno down and they wanded me. The show started and I was amazed. The lead singer was very flamboyent, energetic and entertaining!!! The started of with skin tight white pants with sparkley stripes down the sides, a wife beater and a jacket with buckles all the way down. After one song he lost the jacket, after 2 songs he lost the wife beater and then we started to worry. Jahno was very amazed at how tight the guys butt was. I on the other hand thought the drummer was hot! Anyways. They played most of the popular Queen songs and different people would sing their favorite song, that was until they started playing Bohemian Rhapsody. The whole place went crazy, there was not one person in the whole place who wasn't singing, jumping and dancing!!! It was awesome!!! Second place was Fat Bottem Girls which was great also. The guitar player was amazing also. This was by far the best concert/show I have ever been to and if I ever hear of them coming back I will be there again!!!

Madeleine Alaine

I have noticed that Madeleine is changing again. When she smiles her top teeth are finally starting to show. Well, today when I was changing her diaper she was talking to me and I saw some teeth. I got excited and she actually let me look in her mouth...her top K-9s. The doctor has be saying she should be getting them shortly since she was 12 months but the top ones are finally here!!!
Also today Madeleine had Bean Dip and Fritos for the first time. She really liked it. When she started dipping she wasn't getting any beans but she acted like it was the best thing she ever tasted. Madeleine Alaine is my child!

Just Stuff...

Well, to start with Madeleine has been a little bit of a mess lately. I guess she is getting use to being home again but she has had some fits and is a little bit bossy right now. We are working on it though. We are going to the Children's Museum on Saturday with a group for our old church and I think Madeleine will have a blast. Then Saturday night Jahno and I are going to a Queen Tribute Concert and we are pumped. So that is what is going on.
Another topic...I never really want alcohol. I mean when we go out I have a drink or two or ten, just joking, but I have never just said I want a drink. Well, for some reason I really want a frozen margarita with salt. That is not even my drink of choice usually but I really really want one right now. I have quite a while before I can have one, so hopefully this craving will go away.

Zoo Trip

Amy invited us to go to the Zoo with them on Saturday and we had a blast. It was really windy and cold in the morning but it did warm up a little as we were leaving. Grant and Maddie really seemed to enjoy themselves.

We had a little picnic and let the kids run around for a little bit. Madeleine wanted to touch the water so bad.

Grant kept dropping his container and Maddie was getting upset about that.

Then we played in the Kiddie Zoo. And then we took the kids into the petting zoo. Gary and Jahno were making comments about how dirty the animals were and how we needed to wash our hands. Grant pulled the goats ear and the goat did not even move.

It was a lot of fun for both the kids and us "adults".
