She hears me...

Yesterday we had the June Birthday Party for Mom's Club. It was sooo hot but the kids had fun. There was a huge blow up water slide and a little pool. Maddie couldn't climb up the slide but I would put her as high as I could reach and she would slide down and the jump at the bottom. She was able to climb the ladder on their tree house and slide like a big girl! Then we had to go to the Eye Doctor because I have a bacterial infection in both eyes along with some sort of abrasion (he told me but I forgot) due to my contacts. Apparently the reason I have had such a hard time wearing my contacts during this pregnancy is because my body is rejecting the plastic. They see it often in pregnant women. Then home for a nap.

During nap time Madeleine was talking, singing, screaming...just refusing to go to sleep. Well, I heard her counting to 3 and telling her bear, "That's enough! Go to sleep!" Oh, so she does hear me she just ignores me. Then this morning Madeleine had Paisley (her stuffed dog) and sat her on the dishwasher. I told her she was too big to sit on the door but Paisley could as long as she didn't get wet. Madeleine started hanging on the top shelf so I told her to look at my nose so she would listen. She closed her eyes and ignored me. She lost her grip and fell into the island. She started to cry and I told her that is why we have to listen to Mommy. She picked up Paisley and said "Paisley, you have to listen!" I told her Paisley was listening, Maddie wasn't. So once again she hears me, she just chooses not to listen. It is embarrassing though when Maddie says this stuff in public because we talk to her before we get on to her but she just barks the orders. Oh well!

While I was finishing the dishes Maddie came into the living room. When I walked in I see her on the couch, with Paisley beside her, reading to Paisley! So cute!

Gianna's Room

Jahno started putting Gianna's furniture together when I was in Arkansas back in May. Then in the beginning of June we put the rest of it together and I started painting. The chair that is in there is not staying...it is so comfy but it is low to the ground and does not rock. Ordered another chair and it should be in within the next week or so. I really wanted a fluffy rocker but they are just too expensive and there is quite a bit of stuff we still have to get for Gianna. Still plan on adding art and decor but here is the room so far.
Looking in from the door.

And looking from the chair.

Oh Wednesday

So, I am feeling a little better cold wise but it is so hot and I have no energy. We apparently have a bad coil (AC) so it has to be replaced...the part is covered but the labor is not. And the labor is not cheap! So we are calling around on that one but will have to get it fixed soon so that is frusterating...especially since this was the third time we had someone come out and if the first 2 would have done their job then we would not have had to pay anything. One more reason I will never buy a new house.

Madeleine has hit the...well...the two's. It is "NO" for everything, she is talking back and will look right at you as she does something she is not suppose to do. Last night we were getting on to her for spitting, yes spitting, and I told her she needed to listen to Mommy and stop spitting! She looked at me, waved her finger and said, "Stop it Mommy!" Oh, this is going to be fun! But on the cute side, Madeleine will get her stethoscope and put it on my belly and ask about the baby, So I say dada dada dada.

Also hit 24 weeks so here is a belly shot.

Weekend to Arkansas

Several Blogs posted today...

We left Thursday for Arkansas and the drive was long but went very well. Madeleine did great! We got to the hotel about 12:00am. Madeleine woke up when we got there and was up until about 3am...that wasn't fun! Oh and then back up at 8:00am. We got up had a nice breakfast, went swimming and then got ready for the day. We took Madeleine to go play but decided to go to Build A Bear because she was looking tired. She picked out a cute Dog, stuffed it, bathed it, picked out the clothes and dresses it. She did so well even with a stroller calling her name. She named the dog Paisley. After that we went to lunch with the Frazier's and then back to the hotel for a nap. I got about a 30 min one before I had to get ready for the rehersal. We got all ready and headed out. The rehersal went great and Madeleine did great also. After the rehersal we sat around waiting for the reservations for the Catfish Hole. Funny side note...Mr. Gary, the preacher and Sarah's Dad was finalizing some of the stuff with the bridal party and made a comment about the bubbles and our meals. Sarah's mom just heard bubbles and asked, "Who is bubbles?" Not missing a beat Gary said Bubble's is the stripper!" We all busted out laughing, never would have expected that out of his mouth. We get to the Catfish Hole and start with pickles, cold slaw and hush puppies. I only had about a dozen hush puppies (literally) before our food came. I chose catfish and it was amazing!!! I was stuffed!!! Oh and then Blake's Mom (mother of the groom) made these cheese cakes for dessert and they were to die for. I do not eat crust but this crust was like sugar butter...soooo good. After that we went out for the Surprise Ligerie Shower for Sarah and then a drink. It was nice. We got up Saturday, all got our hair done, went to Taco Bell and headed to the Chapel and Maddie went back for a nap. We took lots of pictures in the hot sun and all sweated like crazy! I can't wait to see the pictures though. Then came the wedding. Madeleine was so cute and did so well! The ceremony of light and humorus...especially at the end when Mr. Gary told Sarah and Blake "Now go forth and multiply!" LOL!!! Then the food was good and as we did at my wedding, Me, Sarah, Natalie, My dad and Sarah's dad did our lovely dance! Mom took pictures and a video this time. I will have to get it from her to post, also I apparently did not take to many pictures so I will have to steal those also. Sunday we got up and headed out. The drive took a little longer than expected...we stopped at Mc Donalds only to find out that every camp in the area was going there...like 100 kids. Then we had to stop a couple of times. We finally got home and it was nice to be back. I have a bit of a cold and feel bad but we had a nice weekend and now can start relaxing for this baby. The wedding was great, the weekend was great and My little Sarah is married!!!!
The only appropriate picture...and yes she put the panties on her head.

Dr. Appointment

I went for my check up and because Dr. Klein was on vacation I saw Amy. We covered a lot of stuff that has been going on. To start with I have been concerned because I don't feel the baby move so much, that is because the placenta is in front and it is absorbing all the movement. So that is why I am feeling kicks in weird spots and when I do feel a kick it must be pretty hard! She is extremely low so we are watching that also because I am having so issues. Everything else looks ok according to them. I have gained 31 pounds total which I am not happy about but I am exercising and eat right so nothing more I can do. I cannot imagine how huge I would be if I was eating and not exercising like I did with Madeleine. Anyways. I go back in 4 weeks for the glucose testing and then go every 2 weeks after that.

Madeleine goes bowling

Wednesday Jahno called and told me that his niece and nephew were going to spend the night and Jada wanted to take all the kids to the museum, I was a little stressed because I had planned on packing for our trip Thursday. Then Jada had a meeting so I ended up watching all the kids for the afternoon...now I was really stressed but Maddie and her cousins hardly ever get to see each other so that was sorta calming. The museum closes at 6 and it was 4:45 before Jada got to our house so that fell through. We called Jump N Jugle to get information and told them we would be there in just a little bit. We got there and they close at 2, so the owner gave us free tickets for next time for the misunderstanding. We decided to take the kids to Main Event. Not sure if any of them had ever bowled before but they did great. Madeleine was scared at first but got into it after a while. She was so cute. Jahno was losing the whole time until someone said Maddie was winning and then he stepped up his game. Not that Maddie would have known but we gave him a hard time about not letting Maddie win. After that we went to Black Eyed Pea because kids eat free. It was really nice! I was able to get everything packed by 11:30 so all is good!

Dress Diaster

Sarah had ordered our Bridesmaid Dresses last year. I found out I was pregnant in Feb. but we thought it would be no big deal because she chose a dress that had flowie, stretchy material in the front. She sent our dresses and I tried it on last week to make sure I still did not need alterations. Uh....the dress would not zip! It was not the stretchy flowie dress we thought it was and I was needing about 6 inches of material to zip it! I freaked out! I went to David's Bridal the next day and they were going to have to order the dress because I went from a size 8 to size 16. If I did rush it should be here in time. The dress came in and fits for the most part. So all is good now. What happened was Sarah was trying to chose between 2 dresses the stretchy flowie one and the one she chose. The reason she did not go with the stretchy one was because it had a sash type thing off one shoulder and she said it looked like a bat wing. So when we talked we both got the 2 dresses mixed up. Either way all is good now with the dress situation. Now just getting everything together for the rest of the trip....

Getting things together...

May and June have been packed tight with activities! I have been going full blast and it has started catching up with me. I have been having some contractions but usually can just drink some water and lay down and they ease up. I decided since we were take a trip to Arkansas for Sarah's Wedding I better take this week nice and easy since it will be pretty hectic all weekend. I was leaving the packing (for all 3 of us) until today (Wednesday) and we are leaving tomorrow. I got an email this morning that Jahno's niece and nephew wanted to see Maddie (which I wanted them to see each other also) and Jada was going to take them to either Discovery Green or The Museum. Ok no real big deal, I mean Maddie needed a nap so she won't be whinny tomorrow but I can work around that. Well, then the kids were going to spend the night with us...a bit of a problem because I would have to clean the guest room and tomorrow I have a Dr. Appt and have to run by the bank before we leave for Arkansas...Not to mention I still haven't packed! Then it turned into I am watching all 3 kids for the day, then going to the museum tonight and then the kids are spending the night! OMG!!! I HAVEN'T PACKED!!! And have no idea when I was going to be able to. And I still have to get my dress! So once everyone thought about it the kids aren't going to spend the night but I did have them for the day and we are still going to the museum. I will have to pack tonight when we get home but everything is clean and it is just a matter of getting it together. Tomorrow I have a Dr. Appt, trip to the bank and then over to Jada's to wait on Jahno so we can leave. We are leaving Jahno's truck with Jada, that is why we are meeting over there. Needless to say I was slightly stressed! I am so glad the kids got to see each other and play together though if I had a heads up I would have packed yesterday...but either way. The kids had fun and will have even more fun at the museum. More over the weekend.

Madeleine's Birthday Party

After lots of stress and running around like crazy Madeleine's Party finally came. Everyone showed up and visited for a little bit and then we opened presents. Madeleine did great and only got side tracked a couple of times. After that we had cake and hot wings...not sure why wings but they were there. Then we went outside to play in the pool and on the slip-n-slide. It was great!

June has begun...

Saturday we had my cousin Krystal's Grad Party and had a blast. She had a Slip-N-Slide that Madeleine loved and of course the pool! I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to on this computer...I will get to that in a sec. After the party we went to drop off the bike because we finally sold it! When we got home I set the mail on the table and got Maddie dinner, Jahno brought my computer to the table like he often does. Maddie was eating and I was going through the mail and Jahno decided to reach across the table to grab a piece of mail instead of asking for it and knocked over a glass of soda right onto my computer!!! He tried to turn it off, turned it to its side and soda just poured out. He took it apart to clean it and let it dry but it died! We were able to get everything off the hard drive which is a good thing but I had not even had my computer for a year. :-( Well, Jahno has to have a computer to work so all Sunday afternoon we went looking for a computer but not just any computer, the perfect, newest and greatest computer that apparently isn't in stores yet. So he talked about just replacing mine and getting his later. Not an option because we have a baby on the way and don't need to spend excess for no reason. Finally I talked sense and reason into him and He got a Mac Book. He has always wanted one and now you can put windows on there so it is the "perfect computer"! I really think he meant to ruin my computer so he could get his, but whatever. Needless to say I am on the little computer that he had to have 3 years ago but never used and can't download pictures or see the screen very well but hey it is a computer right......
Monday we went the the first Summer Bible Reading Club and Madeleine did ok considering it is geared more for older kids. We will keep going and hopefully she will get use to it and learn to sit down. Her Birthday party is Saturday so I am getting ready for that along with trying to squeeze tons of other stuff in. We are heading to Ikea in a little bit and hopefully to some other places for party stuff. I will have Jahno help me download pictures later.

Madeleine Turned 2!!!

Yesterday was Madeleine's 2nd Birthday!!! I cannot believe it has been 2 years already! We went to the Astros game Thursday night so she was up late and then up early for whatever reason Friday. She was a bit whinny which worried me. I made cinnamin rolls for breakfast and then we got ready for the gym. She found another new friend at the gym...she only plays with the older kids, if there aren't older kids she plays alone, not sure why but hey as long as she is having fun I am happy! After the gym we ran an errand to get 2 and a half trash bags full of little girl clothes! They are really cute and season appropriate but only go to 6 months. Then home for lunch. On the way home Madeleine asked for a hamburger so we stopped at Whataburger. After she ate most of her food we went to take a nap. She only took about a hour and half nap...which is not like her, especially since she was up late and early. Not to mention I wanted a little nap and as soon as I layed down she was up. She was pretty whinny when she got up but I was being extremely patient because it was her birthday. Jahno got home and we headed to Chuck E. Cheese to meet both sets of Grandparents. As soon as we got there Madeleine wanted to go to the cars. We finally got her to go to the table to eat the Pizza. She loved watching Chuck E. sing but wasn't sure about him when he tried to give her a hug. We played lots of games...I played too much Ski Ball because I can hardly move this morning. We did fins the Monoply game and all love it and Kimmie and Madeleine (Maddie pushed the button) got the bonus light and won 96 tickets on that game alone. You would have thought we had just won a million dollars! We ended up with 519 tickets and Madeleine got a nice little took set. Her Party is next Saturday and we are going to have a slip-n-slide and a nice little pool. We are excited...now I just need to finalize everything!

Sonic Failure

So tonight was the Free Root Beer Float at Sonic from 8-12pm. The line went down the street on both sides. We did not even try, we turned around, went to HEB and just bought the stuff and are about to have our own homemade Root Beer Floats! We had to let the ice cream firm back up so we gave Madeleine some Banana Split Ice Cream that we had in the freeze. So she had a little treat also.

Maddie and Daddy

After dinner Jahno decided he was going to play Guitar Hero/Rock Band...which ever, we have both. Madeleine decided she needed to play also. She is naked because we just had dinner and she had ketchup.

Weekend #4 and Fire Station...

This is going to be a long one...

Friday morning I had a lot on my plate and finally realized I was not going to be able to get everything done that I wanted to. Madeleine was in a little bit of a "I can do it" mood but a little clingy also. We went to the Fire Station with Mom's Club. Madeleine was scared of everything, she wanted to go Stop, Drop and Roll but when we got up there she wanted up, She wanted to give the Fireman high five but when we got up there she wanted up, she went to the front of the line to go inside the fire truck and then didn't want to go and she was not having anything to do with Sparky! She did turn the water on and off though.

Madeleine and Elijah held hands the whole time!

After the Fire Station Tour Madeleine, Kimmie, Nat Nat and I had lunch together and then I met up with Jahno and had Lunch with his parents (Yep, I ate 2 lunches...but they were small) and then Jahno and I were off to Austin. We got to the hotel and it was super nice, we had the King Suite with a living room and TV and a bedroom and TV. We relaxed a little bit before heading to dinner with one of Jahno's old college roommate. We had real authentic Chinese Food. It was family style and the best food ever. I was a little bothered by the Ducks hanging in there and extremely bothered when the guy walked by with a pan of duck heads! We hung out and had a blast. When we got back to the hotel we were waiting for the elevator in the parking garage and there was a roach on a chicken wing...I was terrified! (Stay turn on the roach stuff) The next morning Jahno and I got up and had the cook to order breakfast which was great. Jahno went to work and I went back to the room to get ready for a relaxing day. I was going to the movies but couldn't really find a theater so I decided to go on an adventure. I went to the parking garage only to see the roach pushing the chicken wing...EWWWW! I drove for over 30 mins and finally found a theater in a another dirty away. Most of the areas I drove around were dirty. UP was sold out for the next 2 and half hours so I bought the ticket and ventured off again. I forgot to bring Jahno underwear so I had to find a store. It took a hour just to find anything other than a Walgreens. The streets have 2 different names and go in circles and my navigation was so confessed that it quit! I finally found a Target and spent time stolling, got Jahno's undies and a lovely pool for Maddie's Party. Got to the movies ordered a Ice Tea and Fried Pickles. The movie was great but I was annoyed that when I got the bill and the Ice tea was $3.99, that should be illegal!!! Went back to the Hotel to see the roach and a bird eating the chicken wing! Jahno finally got finished around 8:30pm and we went to dinner. We were going to go to Freebirds but we drove by a Joe's Crab Shack and coconut shrimp sounded great. We were eating a lovely dinner on the water and half way through the dinner 2 roaches run under our table. Geeees!!! We moved tables, finished our dinner and left. We hung out with Jahno's roommate and his wife again and had a great time. So South Austin was extremely dirty, Longhorns obviously designed there terrible road systems but enjoyed time with my hubby and friends!
