Dr. Appt

We had our ultrasound this morning and it went pretty well. Gianna already weighs 3lbs 8oz and is measuring a little farther along than my due date. She measured a little farther last time also. Her head is really low and she was pressing against the placenta again so the tech was having a hard time getting her head measurement. I have said before that I don't think Gianna likes anything pressing on her, ie tighter elastic, monitors, hands. Well the ultrasound machine was no different. She kicked the machine so hard it bounced! It was a little uncomfortable but the tech thought it was funny. Dr.Klein did check me and everything is okay, so the rest has worked. And all my blood work came back normal for anemia and diabetes. We go back in 2 weeks.

Maddie's First Real Hair Cut

I took Maddie to the Beauty Shop today for her first real hair cut and we met Kimmie there. I say her first real hair cut because when she was about a year I did a little trim to control the mullet issue. We walked in and she got up in the chair and I explained I just wanted a slight trim...clean it up and even it out. Maddie was having a hard time looking down for more than a second and wanted to look around. But she did great and it looks good. At first I thought it looked soooo short but we got home and up it up so she could have her sucker and you can't tell it is that much shorter.

She got a sucker for doing so well

Trip to Austin

Jahno had to go back to Austin to fix some issue. He wanted us to go with him so I hesitantly agreed. We got everything packed and headed out. We had to stop by Jahno's work on the way out so we hit Boston Market. I of course ate tons!!! And Maddie enjoyed it to. Maddie did not want to take a nap so the drive and once there was miserable. I was thinking it was a mistake for me and Maddie to go. We also had Marie Calendar for dinner which was amazing!!! Friday we got up and went downstairs for breakfast and it started off as a good day. Jahno went to work and I found a Chuck E. Cheese for Maddie to play. I got quite a few tokens but Maddie was more interested in putting the tokens in the machines than playing the games. So we played the game where you push a button and get tickets. She rode the bike that goes up in the air but didn't want to ride the cars once they started moving...not sure about that one. She was able to get a football and a bracelet with the tickets. We then went to Baskin Robins because she had a gift cert. from her birthday. And then we went to Big Lots, I needed to get her some soap and needed to waste some time. We finished and it was finally time to check into the other hotel. She played and played in our room with only one fit in which she hit her head on the box springs. We went to grab dinner and pick up Daddy (hopefully). Maddie fell asleep so I drove around and just parked. I grabbed fast food for Jahno and headed back to the hotel. Again Austin's roads are ridiculous and ended up going the wrong way, I finally got to the hotel sat down and Jahno called for me to come get him....Grrr! Jahno's old college roommate called and asked us to go to dinner. We had real Chinese food which was great and then went for ice cream...Funny story. There was a little courtyard where we were eating our ice cream and there was a couple paying on the little grass patch making out. All of a sudden the sprinklers came on, LOL, the girl jumps up and runs and the guy just lays there for a second (right on top of one for the sprayers) I was cracking up...that's what they get! Anyways. So Friday was so much better! Saturday we got up and had breakfast with Jahno's college roommate and headed back home. I wasn't able to take too many pictures but here some.

Maddie and Jahno at Boston Market

Maddie did not want to get back in her seat, she even tried to buckle up in the other seat.

Maddie loved Frito Pie, she had it head to toe.

28 weeks

I hit 28 weeks...my appointment isn't until next week but I like to post the Belly shots on the specific weeks. She is pushing out which is why my belly is shaped funny.

Also today Maddie was playing with her baby (which is almost as big as her) and it was soooo cute! She was trying to get her to sleep and she was teaching her to sit and how to walk and comforting her! She is going to be such a good Big Sister. And for those who are wondering about her clothes...she took off her shorts and put on these bloomers by herself but she is wearing clothes!

July's almost over

Jahno has to go to Austin again for work and really wanted our company so I agreed to go. It was only suppose to be Thursday night and then he would work Friday and come back after that. Check out is at noon and not knowing how long it will take him to fix the issue I wasn't thrilled with going, checking out at 12 and trying to find something to do with a 2 year old until he was finished. Not to mention drive back after that all while I am suppose to be resting. So we decided to get another room for Friday night also. We can't check in until 3 but killing time from 12 to 3 is no big deal. So I need to pack for that tonight but have to wait for Jahno to get home and get the suitcase out of the attic.

Madeleine Alaine has been trying herself lately. She looks at us when we tell her to do something and does the opposite. And when she is told no she throws a fit where she screams and throws herself. I am really afraid she is going to hurt herself. She has thrown herself against the couch, me, the cabinet and yesterday she fell into the toilet! She hit her cheek on the toilet and it bruised and swelled almost immediately. So we are at the 2's and hoping they don't get worse and go by fast! Here is a picture of her check...hard to see the bruise, it is from the corner of her mouth up her cheek in a C shape. (And she is wearing clothes)

Another Dinner Diaster

So I looked up new recipes, they were suppose to be quick and easy. There was a Alvocado Enchilada recipe that sounded great!!! I got all the ingredients only to find out later that I could have used pre-made Guacamole. It took me 50 mins just to get everything chopped up and mashed up when it said it would only take 5 mins. I cooked it for 30 mins. Jahno came home and complained which I was not happy considering I spent so much time prepping and burning my hands with all the ingredients. Then I guess the jalapeno wasn't chopped up enough because they were still crunchy and very strong...and Jahno doesn't like jalapenos anyways. And the Cilantro was way over powering. Needless to say we ended up going somewhere to eat. I am kinda at a lost because I am having a hard time prepping stuff with Maddie into everything and Jahno seems to be with the worst food critic ever!!! I told Jahno to make the menu...we'll see what happens.

Oh Dear....

Madeleine has never put stuff in her mouth. Even as a baby she rarely chewed on toys and never put things like leaves or old cereal or anything she just found on the floor in her mouth. She is now 2 and just today, she pulled a banana of the counter, had it opened and have eaten before I even came out of the bathroom, she found a fruit loop on the floor and was eating it...luckily I caught that one fast and had her spit it out and then as I was getting my (not) easy dinner together (another bog to come) she climbed up to the table and found an old Cheeto in her chair and was eating it. She is also at the perfect height to pull stuff off the counter...which is how she got the banana. But she is also getting stuff she is not suppose to. It is great that she wants to be independent and exploring everything but at the same time it is stressful because she is so fast!

Trip to the Hospital

Last night I lost some mucus...I did not think too much about this because with Maddie a lost a little here and a little there and then a week before she was born the actual plug. Since it wasn't too much I just figured that process had started. This morning Maddie and I went to VBS and I noticed I was a little uncomfortable but I figured it was just because I was tired and had been busy this week. About 10:00am I started cramping. When they had not stopped by 1:30, I decided to call Jahno and ask if he thought I should call the doctor. He of course said yes. I just expected them to say this was normal stuff and be done with it. I had to leave a message...not wanting to wait for them to call me back, I called my nurse-line with the Healthy Pregnancy Program through our insurance. She asked me several questions and then told me that cramps could actually be contractions and the fact that I had lost some mucus meant I really needed to go get checked out. I needed to call my Dr. ASAP and if they couldn't see me then I needed to go to L&D. I called the Dr. back and explained the situation. They did not want to take any chances either so sent me to the hospital. But I had to have someone drive me. I called my mom, she was heading over and I called Jahno so he could meet me up there. Mom's car wouldn't start so I drove up to her work and let her drive the rest of the way. Got to the hospital and had to wait for a room...apparently it is a full moon because they were overloaded with pregnant women. I was hooked up to a monitor and they ran labs. Gianna was doing somersaults, she does not like to have stuff on my belly, but her she looked great. My cervix is extremely soft which is why I lost some mucus, I was dehydrated which I did not understand because I have been drinking more water than I ever have in my life but that is why I was cramping. I do not have the pre-term labor hormone so I just have to drink tons more water and rest rest rest!!!

Madeleine's a Big Girl

Well, we are going on night 3 and things are great. She is sleeping in her Big Girl Bed the whole night and doesn't try to get out in the mornings. We do have a gate at her door and on the stairs but she calls me and asks to get out. She has only had one nap in her bed though because of VBS and Doctor appointments, but she did fine with nap time also. Jahno hooked up a camera so we are able to see her while she is going to sleep and sleeping and that has actually eased my nerves.

I had my Doctor's appointment and everything looks ok...I am so suppose to start wearing a belly belt and slow down. I had my glucose testing and just waiting for those results...I felt terrible after drinking that stuff and I don't remember feeling that bad last time. I start going every 2 weeks now and next appointment I have an ultrasound also to make sure the baby is growing.

Lastly, today I got upset and I was crying. Maddie walked by and saw I was crying and slowly walked up to me and asked to get up on the couch. I pulled her up and she laid next to me, she wiped my tear and said "Mommy sad." That just made me feel worse...but it was so sweet. I stopped crying and hugged and kissed her and said Yes, Mommy was sad but she is better now. She asked 2 or 3 more times "Mommy sad" and check my face for tears. Such a sweet little girl!!!

Somewhat Finished

I super glued the little jewel things to all the points...I managed to get more super glue on my fingers and have found glue on my lip, chest and leg but Maddie should not be able to get them off! We got Maddie's crib taken apart and her Big Girl Bed mostly put together. Can't find the instructions and don't know how to get the foot board attached. Not sure I like the crib as a full bed...the head board is really low. We got stuff hung up also...I feel like the room is missing something. Maybe once we get the bedding set it will complete it...Anyways here are some pictures.

Busy Saturday...

We got up and planned for a busy day...did more than we planned and yet still didn't get the original list done. Jahno wanted to go to the gym which I was sorta dragging my feet but I said ok as long as we could get everything done. We never made it to the gym. We pulled the queen bed downstairs and loaded it up in Jahno truck. We went to Kimmie's and Grand Dad's and traded them the queen bed for a full bed. Maddie's crib is a 4 in 1 and the big girl bed is a full. We had lunch with my parents and headed home. Maddie fell asleep in the car so that put getting stuff done in her room on hold. While she was sleeping we moved the futon out of our room and back into the office/guest room (I know, I know we just moved it out), then we moved the dresser to where the futon was, then we moved the chair we originally bought for Gianna's room into our room where the dresser was and then Jahno dragged the new chair upstairs into Gianna's room. We put together that chair and I am a little disappointed because it was suppose to be white and it is almost a khaki color and it feels hard and tilted, but it rocks and that is all that matters. I told Jahno he had to break it in so it would be comfy by the time Gianna gets here. Then Gianna was letting me know I needed to rest, so I laid down and Jahno put the gate up at the top of the stairs. About the time he finished Maddie woke up so he brought her downstairs and we had dinner. When we finished we headed upstairs to tape Maddie's room and paint it. I got ready to start taping and Engineer Jahno took over. He got out the tape measure and marked everything and cut the tape with the perfect angle and I was about to kill him! It took him about 2 hours to get the one wall taped! During this process he told me his Martha Stewart side had appeared. So much for getting everything finished before Maddie went to bed. So he finally got to a point where I could start painting. Side note...kinda...Maddie is quick! She wanted to help with everything, when Daddy set the pencil down she grabbed it and started writing on the wall...luckily in the "pink" area because it did not erase and then when I started painting she grabbed the other paint brush from the changing table and dipped it in the paint before I could say anything. I called her name in a panic and scared her so we had to stop and comfort her and explain she wasn't in trouble. We finally got the first coat up around 9:30 which is well past Maddie's bed time. I am hoping it will only take one coat but we will find out tomorrow. Did not get Maddie's Big Girl Bed set up so that will be tomorrow also. Jahno still did not get the trampoline taken down or the swing set set up...hopefully tomorrow. Here are a few pictures from today.

Ultrasound

We had our 3d/4d ultrasound today and it went pretty good. Gianna is so different than Maddie was. She is shy and calm and moves at specific times unlike Maddie who could not wait to play with the ultrasound tech and never stopped moving!!! Gianna liked to be cuddled up against the placenta and was licking everything...yes licking! She licked the placenta, the umbilical cord, her toes and her fingers. She was covering her face quite a bit but we were able to get a few good shots though. When the tech would try to push on Gianna she would turn and fuss at the tech and then cover her face. Oh and she is still a girl. :-)

Her hands are behind her head...her elbow is by her mouth.

This looks like Maddie right after she was born.

Look at those pouty lips!

July Update

Madeleine has been going to Westside's VBS this week and is having a blast. It is also nice to see everyone and they were really excited to see Maddie. We have League City's VBS next week and I am helping with that one. This Friday we are having an ultrasound so I will post those pictures as soon as we get them. We are planning on going on the Annual River Trip with Jahno's college people next weekend...as long as Dr.Klein hasn't changed his mind after my appointment. I am getting pretty anxious about the baby. I know we still need stuff for Gianna but I have her room pretty well done and most of her clothes organized. I am very hot and uncomfortable so I wonder if that I part of the reason I am getting anxious...or maybe it is the fact that everyone around me has had their baby, either way. I started looking at some "stock your freezer" and I am a bit overwhelmed. I didn't do that last time but I also wasn't eating for the first 6 weeks but Jahno survived. So after the VBS (s) I will focus on the meal plans...maybe. Part of me feels like I have plenty of time to get everything done and together but then the other part feels like she is going to be here tomorrow. If anyone has great recipe idea's that freeze well please pass them on.

Great Memories

Tonight Jahno and I went to dinner and then to Barnes and Noble. While Jahno was looking I went into the kids section because they had a big sign for Bargain Books. The first Row was awful nothing good, I turned the corner and on the end cap there it was...A Bargain For Frances!!! I started crying! Every time I went to my Grandmother's house when I was younger she would read that book to me. I miss her so much! It makes me sad when I think about how Grandma didn't get to see us grow up or get married but what gets to me the most is that my girls will never meet her. I of course got the book and already read it twice and can't wait to read it to Maddie tomorrow.

Museum Trip

Natalie called this morning and asked if Maddie and I wanted to go to the Museum with her and the kids she Nanny's for. We said sure. It was very crowded and I was extremely anxious again. Last time we went I had the huge stroller so I thought that was why I was so anxious but this time I did not have the stroller and it was way worse. I mean there were a lot more people also but still. It was taking everything I had to not have a full panic attack! I think the next time we go I will have to take a Xanax or something. Anyways, besides my issues, Madeleine and the kids had a blast! The only thing I did not like was that the new part is for 5 and up but Madeleine was able to do all of it...and I let her do quite a bit of it. Especially since they encourage adults to join in so I could help her with all of it. Here are some pictures.
