Been a while

We went to Victoria this past weekend and had a blast. We got there Saturday morning, we had lunch and ran some errands. Then Nikki and Ryan and the Girls and Sue Sue got there and we ran more errands and headed out for dinner. We went to Clark's at Port O'Conner. It was really neat, we sat right on the water and watched the boats and Dolphins go by. Madeleine has amazing eyes and was pointing out the dolphins before any of us saw them. Then we went back to Meme's for August Celebration Cake which was yummy. Sunday morning we had a amazing breakfast and the others went ahead and headed back to Dallas area. I had to lay down because I was hurting. We had a great lunch and headed home. We had lots of amazing food which showed at my Dr. Appt. :-/ Jahno was able to get my stove fixed on Monday so I am thrilled about that...so thrilled I ate a whole can of cinnamon rolls the next day, also aided in my weight gain.

I had my Doctor's appointment this morning and it went well. I gained 6 pounds in 2 weeks which I was a little upset about but once I started thinking about everything I ate over the weekend and this week it makes sense. Side note, I think it should be illegal for a OB office to have reflective glass! As I was walking up I noticed I looked sorta big but once I sat down and looked out the window I looked HUGE! And finding out I gained 6 pounds didn't help. Anyways. Yesterday I started having some cramping/contractions so I drank water and laid down. I was up pretty much all night because of them and hip pains. They weren't regular so I wasn't too worried. They were still there this morning. Dr. Klein said it was just false labor and just watch it. If they become regular then call immediately. Oh and he would not stop me if I went into labor...that scared me! He said not to be afraid to call or come in to get checked because we don't want to have a baby at home. Maddie came so fast and the second usually goes faster. So everything looks good and just taking it day by day!

Maddie Update

Maddie seems to feel much better! She is still pretty tired but that can be expected with that high of a fever. She was trying herself today...if I said Blue she said Red, she wanted chicken nuggets until I gave them to her and then she wanted pizza and we had to go to Kimmie's to cook dinner (Still no stove) and she was crazy! Kimmie even made the comment if she was at home she would have already been popped by now! We are going to Victoria this weekend to see the Memes, Papa and Nikki and her girls (not sure if Steven and Candy are coming)! Maddie is going to have a blast playing with her cousins she hasn't seen in a year. Maddie probably needs some new interaction and entertainment.

Also we hit 32 weeks, here is the Belly Shot.

Awesome Dad Award

Maddie woke up this morning and called for me like normal. When I went in there her eyes were still closed. I rubbed her back and she opened her eyes and asked to get up. I picked her up and put her on her changing table and she just laid there with her eyes closed holding Paisley...this is not normal, she is usually talking my ear off. We went down stairs and got breakfast. As she was eating I took her temp and it was 99.1. Not a biggie we'll just watch it. After breakfast we sat on the couch and cuddled and watched PBS. I was loving the cuddling because last night I was looking at her baby pictures and got pretty emotional. Around 10:00 I noticed she had falling asleep in my arms which is very odd for her. So I took her temp again and it was 101.3. I decided to give her Tylenol. We got ready and went to KFC where we were meeting Kimmie and then I was heading to get my hair cut. After getting my hair cut I found out my Papa was at my parents. I ran home to get stuff for dinner (I still don't have a stove/oven) and Jahno's computer (in case he has to work) and head to my parents. Maddie fell asleep before we even made it out of the neighborhood. We got to my parents and she felt ridiculously hot! She was really groggy, I know she just woke up but she usually is really excited to get to Kimmie's. When we got inside she went to Nat Nat so I could find the thermometer. Grand Dad and Papa walked in and Maddie went to Grand Dad and just laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes...not normal. I found a thermometer and her temp was 103.7 and it was still too early to give her anymore meds. We took her upstairs and gave her a bath. We were asking her what hurt and she kept saying her back hurt. We got her out and she just cried! Grand Dad wrapped her up and tried to sooth her and she just kept moaning. I called the doctor and to my surprise they got me in fast and I did not even have to talk to the nurse first. While we waited for her appointment she slept, on the way to the doctor she slept, and she slept in my arms pretty much the whole time we were there. She was burning up while we sat in the waiting room! The nurse called us back, Maddie actually sat on the scale (25lbs 6oz) and we went to the room. Maddie just laid on me, the nurse took Maddie's temp and said, "That can't be right." OH MY GOODNESS! 107.5....she got the ear thermometer and took it. 105.7, Yep, that is high and she felt that hot. I guess I had a panic look because she said, "Well, let me check the other ear just to be sure....Yep, 105.7" She left and Maddie was still pretty much out. The doctor poked her head in and asked if I wanted some Motrin...DUH!!! So she brought it to me and I gave it to Maddie. The doctor checked everything out and Maddie did not fussy and did great. The Doctor left and Maddie looked at me and said, "Sleep." And laid back down and was out. The nurse same in, bagged Maddie to do a urinalysis and took her blood. Maddie was upset now and crying. I tried to comfort her and get her to drink some water...no go on the water but she did calm down. The blood work was great but her blood count was down so they think it is a viral something. Did not get her to go potty but wasn't an issue because most uti's are bacterial and Maddie tells us when she goes to the bathroom so she would tell us if it hurt or at least show signs. They checked her temp again and it was down to 103.7 in a hour so they let us go. We went back to Kimmie's and she slept on the couch and her fever broke. When she got up Grand Dad and Kimmie gave her 3 popcicles...at least it was fluids, right? We had dinner and then headed home. When we got home Maddie fell asleep in my lap and her fever was starting to go up again. I tried to give her Motrin but she wasn't having it. Jahno was holding her and she was kinda swollowing kinda funny...we got to the kitchen so we could give her the Motrin and she threw up. It was all over Jahno and Maddie and the floor. I grabbed Maddie took her to the bathroom and sat her on the toilet. She was crying now, I striped her and went to get some towels and Jahno was at the sink washing out his clothes. I asked if he was okay...He was fine, not freaking out, not gagging, just cleaning up. Wow what an AWESOME DAD!!! Once we got everything cleaned up we took her upstairs to take another bath. She wasn't wanting to get in so Awesome Dad stood in the bath tub with her. We got her out, took her to her room and she started shivering so Jahno put her diaper on, I lotioned her legs, then Jahno put her pants on and I lotioned her arms and then Jahno put her top on. We got her lotioned and dressed in less than 2 minutes when it usually take about 10. I wrapped her up and rocked her. Jahno went and got her some water and we tried to give her Motrin again...She took it with no problems and drank some water. She asked me to read Naughty Monkeys and then asked me to sing and was out. I checked her temp about 3 hours after she went to bed and it was at 99.9 which is good because it is lower but that is on Motrin. Hopefully this Virus will pass fast and Awesome Dad Award for Jahno!

Dr. Appt and Stuff

Sorta long one....

Wednesday, Jahno asked me to take his truck to get his oil changed. I was not too happy about this because it usually takes a while and Maddie doesn't always like to sit or play quietly in places like that. We got there and the first time ever there was a rude guy there, then they did not have my appointment and it was hot in there. Maddie was whinny so I got out her cards and some candy which calmed her down. It was taking for ever but they finished and pulled out the truck so I thought we were almost finished. I packed up everything and waited and waited....and waited. Maddie wasn't waiting very well, she started throwing a fit! Once everyone was looking at us, I took her outside, finally the guy drives up my truck and honks. (He knew it took too long because they never do that) Well, then I tried to get Maddie in her car seat and she wasn't having it! MASSIVE FIT #2! There are about 10 people behind me trying to get out so I finally get her in kicking and screaming and she continued screaming all the way home! She threw several more fits throughout the day and it wasn't until after dinner that my sweet little girl was back.

Wednesday night when I turned the stove on I noticed a strong gas smell but didn't think too much about it because that burner has always been a little weird. Maddie and I had dinner and cleaned up. Jahno got home around 7:30ish and as soon as he walked in the door said, "What's that smell?" I was a little defensive because he has said that before about my cooking. But he said it smelled like gas. So we go to the kitchen and he does the #1 thing your aren't suppose to do and turns on the burner. Well, we didn't explode! ;-) He pulled out the stove, stuck his head back there and his lungs started burning so he turned off the gas completely. I told him I had a head ache and my nose and throat were burning. We opened up the windows (which was a mistake but didn't know) and I ran to the store. Jahno called the gas company and they told him to get out of the house but we had to be at the house for them to come out. Jada came and got Maddie and the guy got here to check it out. He had a hard time detecting anything because we opened the windows but when to the stove and it was at 3% which is apparently really high. So no wonder we weren't feeling well. He tagged the stove as unusable and checked the rest of our gas outlets. Apparently some valve on the stove has to be replaced. So not to jinx anything but Pretty much everything the builder did or put in this house has been replaced and we have only been here a little over a year! I want to say what else could break but we have "fixed" the AC 4 times which is why I don't want to Jinx it!

Thursday I got up and went and got Maddie for Jada's and met Natalie and her kids (she nanny's for)at Jumpin Jungle. Madeleine LOVES Cathleen! They started playing and I had to head to my doctors appointment. It took a little longer than normal, his nurse was out but they got me to a room pretty fast so it seemed more like he was running late. Anyways First of all, a little embarrassing, I got stuck sitting in the deep and low chairs in the waiting room. When the nurse called me, I couldn't get up. I tried to swing my leg up and nothing...the nurse told me it was okay and just take my time and of course everyone is looking at me! The girl next to me asked if I needed a hand, I smiled kicked my leg again and said no it is okay. I finally got up and walked back. I only gained 3 pounds which is GREAT!!! Everything looks great. Since is was Natural Gas it should not have affected the baby. And I have been having this weird thing where a heavy feeling rolls from my head down my chest and I can't breath, it usually happens when I am laying or sitting down. He had no idea what that was or even what kind of test to order. If anyone knows let me know. He just said to watch it and if I have chest pains or pass out go to the ER. Gianna has been moving a lot more which is a good thing and her heart rate was 150 BPM.

Busy Weekend

Last week Madeleine had decided to get up around 4:00am on Wed, Thurs, and Friday so we were pretty tired and worried about this change. Friday Jahno was having a hard time at work (so he said) so he too a half day. When he got home he told me he wanted to go see GI Joe...so much for him being too tired! I was completely against this because he keeps dragging me to these movies that I have no interest in and usually end up hating. I told him the only way I would go is if I could have Green Sauce from either Gringo's or Casa Ole...he was now hesitant because he is not a fan of Mexican Food. Well, we both got our way. So Maddie visited Papi and Nana and we went to Gringo's and the Movies.
Saturday we got up and headed to Jahno's Family Reunion in Wharton. It was at the American Legion Hall...with AC!!!! There was some really good food and a lot of kids playing. It was nice. Oh, there was a puppy that looked a lot like Tsunami and Maddie wanted sooo bad to play with him. Some of Jahno's immediate family has issues with pets and didn't want Maddie to touch it. Maddie did not understand because all the other kids were playing him. I told her that was Tsunami's Brother and we would play with Tsunami later at Kimmie's...that didn't help. I felt bad and for a split second I wanted to get Maddie a puppy! Then Jahno wanted to see his Family's Land out there. I thought we were just going to drive by, nope we got out and walked the fields, ditches etc. I was wearing flip flops and had stickers and pokies all on my feet and calves. We were finally heading home...I thought. Jahno and his parent's wanted to stop by Whole Foods...Okay buddy, I am really hurting and don't know that I will be able to wonder through this store...but I smiled and said Okay. We managed to get out of there pretty quickly considering how long it usually takes us but I had to get Jahno to push/massage my lower back several times just to get my legs moving. Finally we were heading home. Got home and sat down and was not able to get up the rest of the night, Jahno had to push me upstairs to bed.
Sunday Westside Church of Christ had their 10 year Anniversary Service. Saturday they had a Ice Cream Social and then Sunday they had a guest Speaker, Cecil Hudson, for class and Service. Madeleine got to go to Ms. Ann's class and I know they both loved that! After church there was a luncheon and David Flores did all the meat and it was YUMMY!!! We got to visit with everyone that we haven't seen in a while. Then there was a slide show from the past 10 years which was pretty amusing. And a Singing Group. We came home and Maddie and I took a nap and Jahno had to work. I went to church last night at League City and Maddie stayed home asleep. Jahno was working until 1:30am so I was pretty much up that late also...not like I would have been able to sleep anyways. Maddie slept through the night and until 9:00am. That was the much needed rest we all needed. Here are a few pictures.

Jahno took a picture of Jada taking pictures of everyone.

I thought Jahno had taken a lot more pictures but he apparently used the video camera.

Seriously?!?!

I haven't seen this in a very long time but there use to be commercials and shows where the kids were sitting in the Doctors because they stuck stuff in either their nose or ears. THAT IS GOING TO BE MADELEINE!!! She was such a good baby...and now she is a very independent, strong willed toddler. I have already mentioned her pulling things off the counters, opening food products she decides she wants and putting everything in her mouth. Well, today she was sitting on the floor watching Sesame Street and playing with her Numbers. She got up and starts walking towards me with a huge smile on her face and I notice something white in her ear. Trying not to freak out because if I scare her she will scream and run! She get to me and she has a little fuzzy ball from VBS in her ear!!! I was able to pull it out but we had to have the talk about how we don't put anything in our ears, nose or mouth! But she walked away putting the thing back in her ear. Oh Dear.... :-/

Dinner Hit

So, most of the time I complain about how dinner didn't go right so now that it has been going good I guess I should tell that also. Monday I made an extremely healthy Chicken Broccoli and Rice Dish. It was easy and pretty quick. Not as creamy and cheesy as I like but it still tasted great and was healthy and my toughest food critic, Jahno, loved it. He even took the leftovers to work and said that it only got better! The Tuesday I did the meal deal for the week from HEB which were Hamburgers, so over course those went over well, especially since I chose the basic burgers instead of the bacon cheddar ones. Then tonight I made Santa Fe Pork. It was Pork, Corn, Black Beans, Taco Seasoning and Salsa. It was Great! Jahno liked it and wants me to make the corn and black bean salad as a side. Wow, no complaining and only good things from the food Critic...this is great! Not to mention so far these dinners have been pretty stress free for when Gianna comes.

Possessed Toy!

This toy is Possessed!!! I have been hearing some singing for the past couple of days but did not think too much about it because Maddie is usually playing in the area. Well, last night after Maddie went to bed I hear the singing and no one is over there. I went and it was that dog. I turned it off and went and sat down. About 10 mins later I hear it again! I turned it off and went up stairs. This morning at Breakfast again there it is, singing away. This toy is in the shelf and has not been touched (other than me turning it off) in a long long long time! I just came back down after putting Maddie down for a nap and the thing was singing. The batteries are screwed in so I have to wait for Jahno but the batteries are coming out tonight...hopefully that will stop the singing.
Today Madeleine and I were sharing grapes and she kept saying, "Chew them up, Mommy." Awww so sweet and she does hear me. She also found a ultrasound picture and brought it to me and said, "Gianna?" and gave it a kiss. I need to charge my battery on my camera so I will try to get some pictures up.
