Heath update

Poor Madeleine is still feeling pretty yucky. I had to force her to a 1 slice of bread today so I could give her the antibiotic and that is all she ate all day. Hopefully she will start feeling better soon.

I went to the specialist today and she checked my ears nose and throat. Side note, she thinks I may have some hearing loss, which I already thought but that really isn't high on my priority list. When she checked my throat/neck she actually found 3 lumps and she did not like how they felt. She wants me to get them checked out ASAP. I have a CAT Scan tomorrow and then I will have a needle biopsy towards the end of this week. I will post as soon as I find out something.

Sickie Ickies

We went back to the doctor's on Thursday because Gianna's breathing had not gotten any better. We saw our normal doctor this time. The day before that doctor had said he could not see in Gianna's ear because there was a wax ball but he thought her ears were probably fine. Thursday our Doctor saw the wax, cleaned it out and sure enough she has an ear infection. She also said Gianna did have Bronchiolitis, basically it sounds like astma...my nurse friends can correct me if I am off. Either way we started breathing treatments and an antibiotic and she seems to be doing so much better!

I went back to the doctor because I have had a lump/knot in my neck for over a month. Tried an antibiotic to see if it was just swollen glands from an infection but nothing happened. So once the doctor asked about family history he wanted me to go see a specialist. I called the specialist and they also asked about family history and wanted to get me in ASAP! I called on Thursday and if the doctors saw people on Friday they would have gotten me in then but instead I am going tomorrow, Monday morning. I was trying not too worry about it but the doctors are making me worry a bit.

And now to Miss Madeleine Alaine. This morning she slept later than normal and when I tried to wake her up I notice she was burning up and really whinny. I took her temp and sure enough she had fever. I gave her tylenol and we headed to Church. She was very lathargic and clingy and had to go potty several times during church. When we got to Kimmie's, had some tummy issues and just laid around. Kimmie and I went to Lindsay's Shower and came back to Kimmie's to find Madeleine asleep on the floor in the Formal Living Room. We covered her up and Dad and Grand Dad said that she wanted to lay there so they let her. She woke up crying and telling me her throat and her back hurt. Her fever was back so I decided to take her to the urgent care our doctor had said to use. When we got there her temp was almost 104 and she was just miserable. We were able to get motrin in her and 2 pedialyte popcicles in her. The doctor came and said she had white spots on her tonsils and did a strep test. While waiting on those results we got her to pee in a cup. She is negative for Strep but does have a UTI. So the poor baby got hit with a double whammy, a throat infection and a UTI. So now she is also on Antibiotics!

One day everyone will be well...ONE DAY!

I will post as soon as I find anything out about my lump.

6 months

To start with I know I am a little late but Gianna went for her 6 month check up and is doing pretty well. The Doctor was shocked that she was crawling and could not believe that she is pulling up and standing by herself. She is still petite but she is growing. Her stats:

Height- 25 1/4in (23%)
Weight- 14lbs (9%)
Head- 16 1/8in (26%)

She is having some breathing issues right now. The doctor thinks the bronchlli are inflamed so we are watching her until Thursday and see what happens. We will keep ya'll posted.

Sea World and More

A couple of weekends ago we took the girls to Sea World. We got to San Antonio late Friday night and the hotel had messed up our reservations so gave us a suite instead. That was really nice! Saturday morning we got up and headed to Breakfast at IHop, Madeleine ate 5 pancakes and says she was hungry a hour later...don't know where she puts it! We got to Sea World and it was pretty cold and windy. We saw Shamu and then went to see Big Bird's Beach Party and then decided it was just too cold to be out there so we left. We took Maddie to Chuck E. Cheese and then back to the hotel to nap. That night we went shopping at a mall. The next day we got up again and headed to Sea World again. This time it was sooooo much better! It was still cool when especially when the wind blew but it was not miserable! We went to a couple of shows, looked at exhibits and then Maddie and I even rode a "roller coaster". She was only tall enough for the log ride but she loved it and did not want to get off! We had a lot of fun!

The More- Gianna started throwing up the Thursday before we left for Sea World, in San Antonio it only got worse and by Tuesday we were extremely worried. Our doctor sent us to Texas Children's because it sounded like she had another hernia. We waited in the waiting room for over 3 hours during this time Gianna started vomiting blood, when I went to tell the nurse he said not to worry because she was
still pink. I might have lost it a little...What do you mean it is ok because she is pink, she threw up blood, what color does she need to be to worry!?! They finally got us back in a room, ran tests and took x-rays. She does have another hernia but they are just going to watch it and hopefully this one will fix itself. They let us feed she and told us if she kept it down they would send us home. They sent us home and as soon as we got home she threw up again! We took her to our doctor who admitted her into Clear Lake so they could take care of her. We were there from Wednesday to Friday afternoon. All of her tests came back fine. What they were telling us is she probably had a little virus which started the vomiting and then her stomach became so inflamed that it could hold anything. They had her on an IV for a full 24 hours and then we could give her 1 oz of pedialyte every 15 mins, she was ticked about that. After she kept that down we were able to give her 1 oz of formula every 15 mins...again she did not like that either. She is doing fine now though she is eating every 2 and a half hours during the day but she is sleeping through the night. We are also going to see a Occupational Therapist because she refuses to eat cereal or baby food and she is underweight. She is pulling up and standing at only 6 months and crawling all over the place so she is doing great developmentally!

It is not letting me post pictures so I will try again later.
