Mommy News

I started reading Curious George at the Aquarium and I noticed Madeleine was reading with me. I stopped reading and she finished the book word for word. I amazes me how much she remembers and knows.

Gianna's ear drum ruptured which isn't good but she is on medicine for it. I would have thought she really felt yucky but she has actually been kinda hyper. Last night Madeleine was playing with her computer and Gianna was trying to pull up on her. Maddie told her, "No, no Gianna! Not right now!" Gianna grinned at her and laughed! I packed up Gianna and told her leave Maddie alone right now and she grinned and laughed at me. This went on a couple more times. Madeleine was so patient with her but I think it is so funny that Gianna is already agitating her big sister.

Update and the ARK

I called the doctor this morning because I had not heard anything back. The nurse would not tell me the results which really made me nervous. The doctor finally called me back and told me that the radiologist did not like my CAT scan. One on my lumps is 1.5 (mm, cm, dm...I can't remember) and they want them to be well under that. The needle biopsy came back fine but when she found out that he had just felt around and had me point to them so didn't like that. So since the results were inconsistent/inconclusive she wants to operate. I am going to have them removed this Friday and then we should know for sure.

The past weekend I went to Port Aransas with the Animal Husbandry Association. We stayed at Mustang Island State Park which is right on the beach. My phone was lost or stolen pretty much as soon as we got there so that was not so much fun but the rest of the weekend was amazing! Friday we went to the beach, played in the water and then made hot dogs and smores right on the beach. Saturday we got up and headed to the ARK for a tour and to volunteer. After the tour we split up in 3 groups. Some went to clean and feed the birds...not me because I HATE birds! Then some cleaned off the stuff that was collected for auction and then the rest of us cleaned the water filtration system. This consisted on removing the Bioballs, draining the water/algae/turtle poop, scrubing the tubs, washing the Bioballs and putting them back in. It was gross but we got right in there and had fun doing it! After that we had a lunch break and then some of us clean the turtle hospital floor and the rest of us when and cleaned 3 of the outside turtle pools. Again we drained the water and scrubbed the algae and turtle poop and even got to scrub one of the turtles, Barbie who had algae growing on her. After the ARK we went back to the beach and later went around town. We had a blast and hope to go back next semester!

Heath update

Poor Madeleine is still feeling pretty yucky. I had to force her to a 1 slice of bread today so I could give her the antibiotic and that is all she ate all day. Hopefully she will start feeling better soon.

I went to the specialist today and she checked my ears nose and throat. Side note, she thinks I may have some hearing loss, which I already thought but that really isn't high on my priority list. When she checked my throat/neck she actually found 3 lumps and she did not like how they felt. She wants me to get them checked out ASAP. I have a CAT Scan tomorrow and then I will have a needle biopsy towards the end of this week. I will post as soon as I find out something.

Sickie Ickies

We went back to the doctor's on Thursday because Gianna's breathing had not gotten any better. We saw our normal doctor this time. The day before that doctor had said he could not see in Gianna's ear because there was a wax ball but he thought her ears were probably fine. Thursday our Doctor saw the wax, cleaned it out and sure enough she has an ear infection. She also said Gianna did have Bronchiolitis, basically it sounds like astma...my nurse friends can correct me if I am off. Either way we started breathing treatments and an antibiotic and she seems to be doing so much better!

I went back to the doctor because I have had a lump/knot in my neck for over a month. Tried an antibiotic to see if it was just swollen glands from an infection but nothing happened. So once the doctor asked about family history he wanted me to go see a specialist. I called the specialist and they also asked about family history and wanted to get me in ASAP! I called on Thursday and if the doctors saw people on Friday they would have gotten me in then but instead I am going tomorrow, Monday morning. I was trying not too worry about it but the doctors are making me worry a bit.

And now to Miss Madeleine Alaine. This morning she slept later than normal and when I tried to wake her up I notice she was burning up and really whinny. I took her temp and sure enough she had fever. I gave her tylenol and we headed to Church. She was very lathargic and clingy and had to go potty several times during church. When we got to Kimmie's, had some tummy issues and just laid around. Kimmie and I went to Lindsay's Shower and came back to Kimmie's to find Madeleine asleep on the floor in the Formal Living Room. We covered her up and Dad and Grand Dad said that she wanted to lay there so they let her. She woke up crying and telling me her throat and her back hurt. Her fever was back so I decided to take her to the urgent care our doctor had said to use. When we got there her temp was almost 104 and she was just miserable. We were able to get motrin in her and 2 pedialyte popcicles in her. The doctor came and said she had white spots on her tonsils and did a strep test. While waiting on those results we got her to pee in a cup. She is negative for Strep but does have a UTI. So the poor baby got hit with a double whammy, a throat infection and a UTI. So now she is also on Antibiotics!

One day everyone will be well...ONE DAY!

I will post as soon as I find anything out about my lump.

6 months

To start with I know I am a little late but Gianna went for her 6 month check up and is doing pretty well. The Doctor was shocked that she was crawling and could not believe that she is pulling up and standing by herself. She is still petite but she is growing. Her stats:

Height- 25 1/4in (23%)
Weight- 14lbs (9%)
Head- 16 1/8in (26%)

She is having some breathing issues right now. The doctor thinks the bronchlli are inflamed so we are watching her until Thursday and see what happens. We will keep ya'll posted.
